1 Day Refresher Course

Who Attends

The NPORS Appointed Persons – Lifting Operations refresher course is designed for workers that already hold the NPORS Appointed Persons – Lifting Operations qualification or experienced construction site workers who are in or have been in a role of responsibility associated with the movement of loads. This 1 day refresher contains no training and is purely a test day.

Course Content
• NPORS Theory Test
• NPORS RAMS and Lift Plan Exercise.

Duration:
1 day – for up to a maximum of 6 candidates

Venue:
DLT Training Centre, Bridgend, or customer premises if suitable facilities are available.


5 Day Course

Who Attends

The NPORS Appointed Persons – Lifting Operations course is designed for workers that already have construction site experience either as a slinger/signaller, or crane supervisor, or have been in a role of responsibility associated with the movement of loads. This is a comprehensive training course designed to give delegates the knowledge to be able to pass their NPORS N401 assessment and theory test. A good level of communication, reading and writing in English are required, plus a good base understanding of mathematics is essential.

Course Content

The course is split into 4 days of training and one day of testing. By the end of the course delegates will have the knowledge to be able to design safe lifting plans that are compliant with the law, and take into account all health and safety requirements on site.

• Legislation controlling crane operations
• BS 7121 Explanation
• LOLER regulations in detail
• Crane appreciation
• Crane stability
• Accessories
• Safe slinging
• Mobile crane selection
• Risk assessment and method statement
• Supervise a lift scenario
• Practical induction
• Case studies lift plan exercise
• Procedures for planning lifts.

Day 5:
• NPORS Theory Test
• Practical Assessment
• RAMS and Lift Plan Exercise.

5 day – for up to a maximum of 6 candidates
